Baylor Scott White Orthopedic & Spine Hospital, Dallas-Fort Worth area’s first and only orthopedic and spine surgery specialty hospital, is a primary sponsor of our Vocal Majority concert benefitting Open Arms Health Clinic. AMERICARES

SUPPORTING OPEN ARMS HEALTH CLINIC'S Extreme Weather Emergency Preparedness

Americares, one of the leading nonprofit providers of donated medicine and medical supplies to organizations serving low-income and uninsured patients in the U.S., has awarded $32,000 to Open Arms Health Clinic. The grant was given in response to 2021’s Winter Storm Uri and the crippling power outages that followed. The grant allows OAHC to purchase and install a backup generator to power all clinic operations. The generator will help avoid disruption to critical health services and prevent devastating financial loss of temperature-sensitive medications during future severe weather events. Part of over $100,000 in grants awarded by Americares to free and charitable clinics in Texas, the funds provide vital aid for clinics impacted by Winter Storm Uri and help them prepare for  catastrophic weather events. For more than a decade, the Pantego Lions Club has supported Open Arms Health Clinic and our mission to care for those lacking access to affordable healthcare here in North Texas. Their consistent gifts have helped us continue that care by funding much needed medical provisions, chronic illness monitoring tools and helped us fund additional patient services. SUPPORTING OPEN ARMS HEALTH CLINIC'S Flex Rooms Readiness: New Specialists Program

Too many of our patients and their families lack affordable access to basic dermatology, physical therapy, podiatry and other routine specialty services – care that could greatly improve overall health outcomes, job and school performance, and quality of life. While we refer patients to specialists for help, patients with painful teeth, skin conditions, back issues, poor vision or foot problems typically have to wait months to get care.

For those with chronic conditions such as diabetes, an untreated minor dental or skin problem can quickly escalate into an ER visit.

Through generous grants from our donors, Open Arms can now provide pre-emptive care and faster relief to our patients with musculoskeletal pain, skin conditions or foot problems. We can also serve new patients without access to affordable specialty services – expanding our patient base and our clinic’s positive impact on the health of those less fortunate in the Arlington community.
